What we offer
Financial Assistance Grants
The Jeremy Wilson Foundation is committed to helping musicians and their families in times of medical crisis. Our Musicians’ Emergency Healthcare Program provides financial assistance grants to musicians residing in Oregon and Clark County, Washington who are experiencing financial hardship due to illness, injury, or mental health concerns. Depending on an applicant’s specific need, we offer financial assistance for medical expenses (including medical, dental, alternative medicine, or mental health care), and for basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, and transportation.
The JWF Musicians’ Emergency Healthcare Program also aims to aid musicians and their families in achieving long-term healthcare and assistance in other forms. When you (or your family member) apply for aid through the Musicians’ Emergency Healthcare Program, a member of our volunteer social services team of navigators will connect you with any other available Resources, from social assistance programs to financial aid offered through local, state, federal, and other entities.
Individual Artist Relief Fund CAmpaigns
On occasion, an applicant will need financial support beyond the limited grant capacity of the JWF Musicians’ Emergency Healthcare Program. Under those circumstances, the JWF can undertake targeted fundraising campaigns and/or events to raise funds for a specific individual, with no tax consequences to the recipient.
- Thinking about starting a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for yourself or a friend? Think again! Raising large sums of money in private donations may have tax consequences, and may also impair your ability to get other forms of financial aid. Contact the JWF first! The JWF will also periodically launch targeted campaigns to provide grant assistance to eligible applicants facing extraordinary hardships. For example, in March 2020, the JWF mobilized to respond to the impact of COVID-19 on the musical community through a donor-directed fund called the COVID-19 Oregon Musicians’ Relief Fund. Special fundraising efforts allowed us to distribute $53,000 in direct assistance to 106 musicians and music industry workers experiencing financial distress due to the pandemic.
