COVID-19 Oregon Musicians’ Relief Fund

The Jeremy Wilson Foundation (JWF) created the special donor-directed COVID-19 Oregon Musicians’ Relief Fund specifically to support musicians and music industry workers impacted by the coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis. We are offering one-time emergency grants of $500 to help musicians based in Oregon and Clark County, Washington with medical expenses, lodging, food, and other vital living expenses.

Eligibility for assistance depends on the availability of funds and submission of a complete JWF COVID-19 Oregon Musicians’ Relief Fund Application for Assistance, which includes the following components: 

  • Demonstration that the applicant is a performing musician or a music industry worker residing in Oregon or Clark County, Wash.
  • Confirmation, as directed in the application, that at least 50% of the applicant’s income comes from working within the music community
  • Proof of 2020 bookings canceled due to COVID-19

Specific applicant criteria include the following: 

MUSICIANS: 

  • The applicant must be a musician with regular paid performances who derives at least 50% of their income from these performances. For purposes of eligibility under this fund, the term “musician” includes vocalists, songwriters, and instrumentalists. 
  • The applicant must provide documentation showing that at least three of their scheduled performances were canceled as a result of the coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis. 
  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need by responding to the need-based questions on the application. Financial need will be determined based on household* income and Federal Poverty Level guidelines, as well as the applicant’s anticipated loss of income from canceled performances. 
  • The applicant must not have received a prior grant through the COVID-19 Oregon Musicians’ Relief Fund. 

INDUSTRY WORKERS: 

  • The applicant must be a music industry worker who derives 50% or more of their income from this field. For purposes of eligibility under this fund, “music industry workers” include road crew, sound engineers, and lighting directors for independent bands. The eligibility of other support workers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • The applicant must provide documentation showing that at least three of their scheduled performances were canceled as a result of the coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis. 
  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need by responding to the need-based questions on the application. Financial need will be evaluated based on household* income and Federal Poverty Level guidelines, as well as the applicant’s anticipated loss of income from canceled performances. 
  • The applicant must not have received a prior grant through the COVID-19 Oregon Musicians’ Relief Fund. 

*Household definition includes applicant and spouse or domestic partner, if applicable.
