Blues Fest Cares Concert to benefit the JWF - last remaining tickets!
We are over the moon to learn that the Jeremy Wilson Foundation, along with Meals on Wheels People, are this year’s charity partners for the 2021 Waterfront Blues Festival. A special pre-festival Blues Fest Cares Concert will benefit both organizations.
The last remaining tickets are available here for this exciting concert, featuring Portland’s own Curtis Salgado. The show begins at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 1. And if you can’t join us in person, you can watch an hour of the show live on KOIN 6 TV starting at 7 p.m.
“For decades, the Waterfront Blues Festival has been Portland’s premier musical event,” said Jeremy Wilson, the foundation’s founder. “It’s a terrific honor to be named as a beneficiary of the Upriver show. And the proceeds will go a long way toward creating the much-needed safety net for members of our music community.”
Our community is eager to get back to lots of live music – but recognizing we’re not totally back to pre-Covid conditions, this year’s concert and festival will be held at The Lot at Zidell Yards, less than a mile from the regular location.
You can buy tickets for pods – groups of two, four or six-person seats, socially distanced by all with terrific views of the stage. The audience will be much smaller – but those who attend will have a terrific experience, with great sound, great sight lines and comfortable seating.
The JWF will have lots of opportunities to tell our story during the four-day blues festival. Volunteers will be meeting with concert-goers, talking about the musicians we’ve helped in so many ways and encouraging people to support the Musician Health and Services Program.
And if you’d like to contribute to us and/or Meals on Wheels, we’d love it if you visited the Blues Fest Cares site to make a donation.
